EMT Prep 1

Emergency Medical Technician Preparation 1 provides a comprehensive introduction to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for students aspiring to pursue a career in healthcare or become certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). This course offers an in-depth overview of EMS systems, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with essential skills such as airway management, CPR, patient assessment, and handling special patient populations. Students will engage in interactive learning activities, including presentations on medical emergencies, to deepen their understanding of the field.

Emergency Medical Technician Preparation 2 course emphasizes hands-on learning through simulation and skills-based training. Students will have the opportunity to practice skills and refine their competency by building on the foundational knowledge gained in EMT Prep 1. Written midterm and written final exams will assess theoretical knowledge, while a psychomotor final exam will evaluate proficiency in performing essential EMT skills. Short lectures preceding simulation and skills sessions will reinforce key concepts and prepare students for real-world scenarios.

EMT

Summer 2024

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course is a five-week accelerated program during the Summer designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to become competent and compassionate emergency medical professionals. This comprehensive program integrates theoretical learning with hands-on training, covering topics such as patient assessment, trauma care, medical emergencies, and EMS operations. Students will participate in clinical rotations and field experiences to gain practical exposure to emergency situations. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be eligible to take the national registry exam for EMT certification.


Please note you must be at 18 years old by the time the course is completed to be eligible to take the national registry certification exam.
